Coastal grizzly bear viewing Canada

In the traditional territory of the Gits'iis, the Khutzeymateen was established in 1994 as Canada's first and only grizzly bear sanctuary, protecting the entire watershed of the Khutzeymateen and Kateen Rivers and the foreshore of the Khutzeymateen Inlet. The Khutzeymateen Inlet Conservancy was added in 2008 to further protect the intertidal and foreshore habitats of the inlet. Approximately 60 bears utilise the diverse and rich coastal habitats including numerous estuaries throughout the inlet.
